"The fish boat SHAW was launched Sunday. Quite a crowd was there to see it launched. Those present were: Messers. W. Quimby, Smith, Holly, F.E. Fowler, A. Blank, W.E. Grinstead, D.E. Hoffman, Fred Fowler, Fritz Lee, Mesdames Quimby, Hoffman, O. Fowler, F. Grinstead and Miss Holly; also quite a crowd of children."

"The fish boat Shaw took two loads of canned salmon to Bellingham [Washington] the past week."

The Shaw Island Cannery was located on the dock on the left margin of this photo located there for ca. ten years on what was then called Harney Channel. 

In 2022 the name was officially changed by the state to the Henry Cayou Channel.
