Racing craft of all classes–– star, 'R', sloops, yawls, nine-meters, and the rest ––assembled at Seattle this week for the Annual Pacific International Regatta. 
      Canada was well represented in the program of races and won the principal contest for the Lipton Cup –– when the LADY PAT of Victoria, Royal Yacht Club bested entries from Vancouver, B.C., and Seattle. Good sailing winds favored the racers at all times during the three-day meeting.

      The Star Class made its debut in the Olympics in 1932. 
      

Then in 1971
Dennis Conner of San Diego, CA.,
comes to Seattle for the 
World Star-Class Sailing Championships.
He didn't win a race but finished first on 
total points for the week of sailing on Puget Sound.
Lowell North, also of San Diego, finished second.
