1935 ❖ A NEW BRIDGE ❖

The new bridge for Deception Pass.

The new 1,720-ft bridge across Deception Pass and Canoe Pass in Puget Sound, that eliminated ferry service to Whidbey Island, a popular summer resort and points west is shown above. Port Townsend, one of the largest cities on the Sound is more easily accessible with the completion of the bridge that was built with a PWA grant of $92,000.
