1976 ❖ DIGGING ON BAINBRIDGE

L-R: John Adams and Rudi Becker

It was a sunny morning in Seattle.
Bridges and freeways were clogged with automobiles, buses, and trucks converging on work centers. At the crush by the off ramps, car radios coughed out the morning news of turmoil and tragedy.
Out at Shilshole Marina, John Adams was hoisting the sails on his 34-ft sloop, WESTRI.
From his house above Carkeek Park, Rudi Becker was rolling down the hill in his red pick-up truck with a basket loaded with a picnic lunch.
John Adams and Rudi Becker are buddies––have been 30 years. On nice days they chuck the work-a-day world and go have an adventure.
