CUTTER CHELAN 

21 December 1936
Capt. R. W. Dempwolf, left center,
commander of the Seattle Division K 
of the Coast Guard, bidding farewell to the 
 officers and men of the USCG Cutter Chelan
 as she sailed from Seattle for Boston. 
Facing Capt. Dempwolf is a petty officer
 stationed aboard the Chelan
Capt. Dempwolf brought the Chelan to 
Seattle eight years ago.
